FAQ :
Q. How much does a system cost?
A. This is a difficult answer in that there are so many variables (site conditions, type of system, electrical demand of the business, etc.) There are significant incentives available that make solar a feasible option. Contact us and with some general information we can give you an estimated cost for systems that will work for you.
Q. Does snow have an impact on the panels?
A. The panels are generally installed at an angle that does not allow for snow accumulation. Any snow that does develop is generally melted away. On the rare occasion that snow does accumulate, simply brushing it off is all the maintenance required.
Q. How does the cold weather influence the electrical production?
A. Solar panels actually perform better when they are cold.
Q. How does a battery backup system work?
A.. It is the same PV system that is tied into the electrical system of your business but it also charges a series of batteries to provide limited power at night or if the grid system fails. Typically the battery backup provides power to a limited number of circuits in the business, such as, the refrigerator, entertainment, security systems and lighting.
Q. How about maintenance?
A. Most systems require very little maintenance. With most PV systems there are no moving parts to wear out. Keep the panels clean and keep an eye on any nearby trees that might start to shade the panels in the future. Monitor the electrical production every so often to make sure the system is operating efficiently.
